Help people find your family law firm when they need clear, trustworthy legal guidance. I help Australian family lawyers improve local search visibility through useful practice area pages, a credible website and an accurate Google Business Profile.
I have worked on SEO for family law firms and family lawyers. My approach connects search intent with the services your firm offers and the locations where you can take enquiries.
People searching for family lawyer [city], property settlement lawyer [suburb] or parenting arrangements lawyer are looking for a suitable professional and a way to start a conversation. Your site should make its services, team, locations and enquiry options easy to understand.
I work with firms across Australia, but local SEO is built around the places your practice actually serves. Sensitive legal topics need accurate, measured content and a respectful enquiry experience.
Map searches for divorce, parenting matters, property settlement, mediation and other services your firm actually provides. Prioritise queries that indicate a need for legal help.
Review the firm’s categories, location, opening hours, contact details and photos. Keep information accurate and develop an appropriate approach to genuine client reviews.
Build distinct pages for relevant practice areas and locations. Explain the service, process and next step in plain language, with lawyer review of legal claims and jurisdiction-specific details.
Improve titles, indexing, internal links, mobile performance, lawyer biographies, contact pathways and clear authorship. Strong fundamentals may support discovery in AI search without any promise of inclusion.
Connect related practice pages with helpful internal links and pursue credible citations or mentions. Avoid generic link packages and unsupported claims of expertise.
Review Search Console and analytics for relevant demand. Track calls and form enquiries where available, while respecting the privacy and sensitivity of legal matters.
Someone looking for help with a parenting or property matter should reach a page that speaks to that issue, explains the firm’s relevant services and shows a clear, discreet way to contact the team.
The page, lawyer information and Google Business Profile should present consistent details. We can then review the searches and enquiries that matter to the practice.
“Family lawyer” or a relevant matter plus a city
Explain the job, service area and common questions.
Make it easy to call or request a quote.
Review relevant visits and contact actions.
Illustrative example of how local search can lead to an enquiry.
I worked with this Australian family law client on SEO and rebuilt the firm’s website twice during the period shown. Organic search visits rose 63% when comparing January to June 2022 with the same six months in 2026: from 1,983 to 3,226. The chart shows the progression across five matching periods. These results reflect the wider website and search work over time, not one isolated change.
Contact tracking began in November 2022. Using the first complete January to June period in 2023, website contact actions rose 41% by 2026, from 169 to 238. These include forms, consultation bookings, call clicks and email clicks. Across the website and Google Business Profile, all tracked contact actions rose from 804 in 2023 to 909 in 2026, with a higher peak of 997 in 2025.
January to June totals, 2022–2026
Forms, consultation bookings, call clicks and email clicks, Jan–Jun
Source: client monthly reporting supplied by Michael Sherry. These are equal six-month periods. Contact tracking began in November 2022, so 2022's zero actions are not a valid conversion baseline. Actions can include multiple interactions by one person and are reported across channels; the data cannot attribute every action to SEO or establish unique new clients.
A family law firm needs a different approach from a general legal directory. We start with the matters you handle, office locations, client capacity and the kinds of enquiries you want. Some firms need stronger local discovery for a single office; others need clear practice area structure across multiple locations.
Content can cover divorce, parenting arrangements, property settlement, financial agreements, mediation and related services only where they match your actual practice. It should explain what a prospective client can expect without presenting generic text as legal advice. Your lawyers should approve legal detail before publication.
I also review whether pages compete for the same intent, how they link together and whether calls to action feel appropriate to someone dealing with a personal issue.
We discuss the services, preferred enquiries, actual service area and current lead sources. I review the website, Google Business Profile, Search Console where available and the local competitors appearing for relevant searches.
I prioritise technical issues, profile accuracy, service content, internal links and clear contact options. Area pages are added only when there is genuine local value and distinct information.
We review relevant searches, service page visits, calls and forms where tracking allows. The next improvements follow what the data and customer enquiries show, rather than a fixed list of generic tasks.
I’m Michael Sherry, an Australian web designer and SEO consultant, and I have worked with family law firms and family lawyers. I can improve the website itself as well as its search visibility, including the pages and contact paths people use when deciding whether to enquire.
You deal directly with me for the audit, priorities and changes. I report on relevant visibility and enquiries without promising a number-one ranking or a particular legal matter outcome.
Yes. I can work remotely with Australian family law practices. The local search plan focuses on the locations your firm serves and the services it provides.
Only where the service and search intent warrant a useful, distinct page. Divorce, parenting and property matters can require different explanations and enquiry paths, but thin variations do not help clients.
Yes. I can audit and improve its structure, content, technical setup and contact experience. A rebuild is considered only if the existing site limits the work.
I can research search intent and draft clear service content for your lawyers to review. The firm remains responsible for checking legal accuracy, jurisdictional detail and professional obligations.
Profile accuracy is part of local SEO. I can review categories, office information and services, and recommend a review process that suits your firm and its client privacy obligations.
Tell me the locations you serve, your main practice areas and what you want your website to do better. I’ll suggest a sensible starting point for local SEO.
